16-year old Arabian mare currently available for 1/2 lease ($150/month plus farrier and basic vet fees) at Rivendale Farm on Ryder Road in Newark, NY or full lease at your own barn. Quezal is a great beginner or kid's horse and is suitable for either pleasure or showing in both Western and Hunter. She is currently being 1/2 leased by a girl at our barn but I am looking to find another 1/2-lessee to cover the rest of her board. My intention is to keep Quezal at Rivendale Farm but I would consider either selling her or leasing her off-stie in the right situation. This mare loves attention even though she is somewhat shy until you get to know her. She is quiet, gentle, honest, sweet, and has no vices. She stands well for the farrier, loads well, is up-to-date on all shots and coggins and is currently being used for beginner lessons and has been brought to both local and regional shows. The riding schedule is very flexible and can just be worked out with the current lessee. I have owned Quezal for almost 10 years but I have sadly outgrown her and have begun riding a "hotter" horse for competition purposes. I have to be honest, Quezal is not the best trail horse only because she tends to get nervous out on the trails but she is GREAT at shows and is very comfortable doing arena work both inside and out. Perhaps further trail riding would get her more comfortable with it but I am more interested in showing personally. Rivendale Farm offers a large, bright indoor arena as well as an outdoor arena. They also have a full lesson and horse show program in many disciplines.
