It looks like Cruiser is the most perfect horse in the world because I highlighted so many different disciplines. Let me explain. THIS HORSE COULD SERIOUSLY DO EVERYTHING I LISTED WITH MINIMAL TRAINING.
Cruiser has been a polocrosse horse for about the last 4 years. He can play any grade except A & he can play a pretty tough B right now; but with another rider.
Cruiser has one of the calmest dispositions I have EVER seen in a horse. Nothing seems to phase him in the slightest, except mares. We don't know if it's a crypt-orchid, squealers or a pituitary issue, but he can lose his focus if his rider doesn't have enough experience. For that reason, Cruiser shouldn't be a beginner's or a small child's horse.
Cruiser has been shot off of, carried dead-weight people and animal skins, had some dingdong set off a 30'+ bonfire not 20' away from us while trail riding, been hunting in the mountains [doesn't do well without blankets], is my riding lesson horse [because he knows his body parts & has been through EXCELLENT training!], taken hits from multiple horses with little kids on him instead of even trying to get out of the way, etc.
I know it sounds like I'm in love with my horse, and that probably is because I am. Unfortunately, I haven't advanced into intermediate riding yet [just NOW starting riding lessons, the old ‘cart before the horse thing’ and really need a different horse for polocrosse.
He IS slightly barn sour, but even I haven’t had any trouble keeping him on a trail or out in the arena for practice. No biting, kicking, etc. Puts his head down for halter & bridle, loads, picks his feet up like a dream, bathes, takes his medicine [worming & shots], etc.
He’s had at least three professional trainers work with him: Heidi Chambers, Les Snipes and Ryan Gingrich [who offered me lots of money for him, but silly me, I didn’t take him up on it. Told you I love this horse.]
I have a 9 Generation Pedigree in an excel spreadsheet also available. In addition to Zipppo Pine Bar, Cruiser also has Leo, King, Man O'War, Traveller, Plaudit, and more Foundation & famous racing horses in his bloodline. Just email & I'll send it to you.
Photos coming soon.
