We are very concerned that he finds a good home with people that are happy with him. If you decide to take him and change your mind for any reason or are not happy with him you are welcome to bring him back at any time, no objections, no guilt, nor questions asked.

I've had this kitty for about 8 years. We got him when he was 5 years old so he's around 13 now. He's in very good health and has never needed to be taken to the vet. We are looking for a good home, some good people that will take good care of him in the 2nd part of his life. We are having a baby and also need to move. The cost and effort of taking care of him on top of everything else is too much right now. And we know he will not get along well with a baby/toddler. We really love him and would prefer not to give him up but we have to so we want to be totally sure he will be with good people that will take care of him.

He's very energetic and affectionate. He has a great personality and very intelligent. He's well trained to use the litter box outside and uses a cat door to go in and out. Except for feeding he is very independent and takes good care of himself. He's very clean. He is of course neutered and has received all the necessary shots. He's well behaved and won't destroy furniture (but he needs a place to scratch, you can take the thing he likes to scratch from us, he uses it outside). He's easy to train for avoiding certain areas, counters, tables etc.

He will likely prefer to be an only pet. He probably won't get along with other cats and especially not dogs. He's been an only cat for his whole life. So he definitely needs human contact, humans are his "lion pride family".
He is very much an indoor AND outdoor cat and needs free access to go in and out whenever he wants.
Ideally I think he would enjoy a large property or a farm that doesn't have competition animals like other dogs and cats. Farm animals are fine though. Although he does currently live in a dense sub-urban neighborhood with many other cats around, he'll be fine with that too.

He especially likes to sit on laps and at the end of the bed at night. He's kind of sensitive about where and when he's touched and will swipe at you to let you know he is tired of being petted or doesn't feel like it or doesn't like where you're touching him. Also he can feel a persons vibe if they are uncertain or nervous about petting him or if they are rough and insensitive he'll sense that. He doesn't cause harm and isn't mean and doesn't try to hurt. By being aware of his mood one can totally avoid being swiped at. It's just that he's more like an individual person than a mindless toy of a pet. Thus he's very smart and has a really great unique personality but should be respected as would a human.

He likes to be held and does a trick where if a person pats there chest rapidly and invitingly he will jump up into your arms (he won't jump unless invited though). He can be very snuggley and affectionate when in the mood. His fur is exceptionally soft and silky. He keeps himself very clean.

Even though he's older he still gets frisky and likes to play. His age may place him as a senior but he's more like an adult.

Because I have learned that there are people out there that pick up give away/adoption pets in order to use them in harmful ways or to abuse them we have to insist to be able to visit him at his new home for a few months in order to be sure he is being taken care of and not harmed. We must meet the new owners and be sure they are good people with good intentions. He is a really great cat and we are very concerned that he be happy. We're very sad to give him up but there are a lot of complications for us right now.

Prospective new owners are welcome to spend some time with him to get to know him before trying him out at your home. Take as much time as you like. He's reserved about new people but warms up to new people very well if they are kind and gentle. He has a very intuitive sense about a persons intentions.

More photos available upon request.

We are requesting a $40 adoption fee, which is 30% of the original adoption fee we paid to the Humane Society. The exclusive reason for the adoption fee is to prevent people from taking him who have harmful intentions.

Feel free to E-mail any questions.

I realize there are A LOT of strings attached to this kitty and it's a long-shot we'll find new owners, but we'll only send him to a home we know he'll be happy at and with certainty the new owners will be happy with him. He's a real special cat so the right people will be very happy to have him.
