Pete is a 9yr old grade gelding, very forward moving, willing to jump, and NOT for a Beginner.
Pete needs a very confident rider or someone capable of training him properly, he is the perfect project horse and I would consider selling him to the right trainer.
He stands 15.3, just over 1200lbs., is a Grade QH/Paint mix with NO Papers, and has 2 Spots; 1 shaped like a tree and the other shaped like a man with a hat on, they are on either side of his belly. He also has a spot on his withers, but it may be from a previosly ill fitted saddle.
Pete's Ground Manners are impeccable, he has allowed me to clean the outside of his sheath without difficulty. I can stand behind him and pull and comb his tail and I can literally walk beneath him from one side to the other.
Pete works well in the arena and round pen, but can be skittish in unfamiliar situations. I do not feel he is Trail Sound, as told to me when first purchased.
He's turned out with cattle, has been exposed to a Billy Goat, Lhamas, and Cattle dogs. He's not a bully in the pasture and can be turned out with both geldings and mares. His current buddy is a 20+ yr old Flea Bitten TB Gelding.
I would really like to see Pete go to a knowledgeable, caring, and trust worthy Trainer type; but a knowledge, experienced rider would be nice too.
He is fully vetted; Coggins, Rabies, Strangles, 3-way, West Nile, and botulism just to name a few. He's been seen by my Vet and cleared for any lameness issues. He has also had his teeth floated within the last month.
Pete will be sold on contract, and I would like first right of refusal should you decide not to keep him. And I would like to be kept on up on his wear abouts if at all possible.
