I have 5 Indian Runner drakes, all free to a no-kill home with good living conditions. Four of them would be excellent for use by an experienced border collie owner as herding practice. One of them has a slight limp. I would prefer for all of them to go to homes with female company, but for the limping bird (who is normal otherwise) or him in combination with the others it is a must. They are not extremely tame, but they are trusting and used to humans and would make excellent pets. If you are taking all five there are free water troughs and baby pools available. I am not willing to ship at the moment, but would be happy to drive them anywhere in Colorado or within an 8-10 hours drive of Denver (if you are farther away than that, we would likely be willing to meet you halway). My phone is 303-840-7565, my email is erelliocsnaz@yahoo.com
Also free to no-kill homes: there are more ducks at a local park who must have good homes before the winter, or they will die. I do not know which ones are left, as dogs left off the leash have been killing them, but I am willing to catch them and give them to whoever wants them. At last check there were: 1 cayuga drake, 1 fawn/white indian runner drake, 1 pekin drake (Aflac duck), 1 silver welsh drake, 1 chocolate runner drake, and 1 fawn/white hen. The hen was injured by a dog and survived, but I think her neck was broken. She holds it strangely but functions normally. There may be more hens or additional drakes, many lazy and careless duck owners dump their birds there thinking they will have quality lives. I CANNOT GUARANTEE WHAT'S THERE, but if it's just pets you're interested in, they'd all be wonderful (being at a park trains them to come up to humans and eat out of hands).
