Super sweet hand fed baby quaker parrots! These birds have received a lot of loving attention and are amazingly sweet. Each one will run and hop on your hand if you put it in the cage. They love kisses and will return them. They make the kissing noise any time a person puts their lips on their head or if a person makes the kissing noise outside the cage the babies will answer with kissing sound. These birds were raised on top quality hand feeding formula mixed with aloe vera, acidophilus yogurt and Gerbers Vegetable baby food. This is a great way to feed because the liquid their food is mixed with is all beneficial. These babies are weaned onto Zupreem and as a treat I give them a small amount of seed. These birds are beautifully feathered and perfect! They are nice large quakers too. They are showing a desire to learn speech and will pick it up any time! These babies are just two weeks past weaning which is perfect for taking home because you know they are eating on their own and ready to learn anything you want to teach them. I’m very proud of these birds and would love for you to come and see them In Lebanon, Albany, Corvallis call: 541-258-3179 This is the best number to try because there is usually somebody there to answer. Cell: 541-579-3312 Sometimes if you can’t reach the number above you can reach my cell phone which doesn’t work that well but I can call you right back on my house phone In Woodburn or Portland area call: 503-981-1786 Please leave a message if there is no answer when you call Cell: 541-760-1922 Cell: 541-760-1923 I am excited to show you these beautiful, sweet. Snuggly and kissy birds!
I love the last three pictures on here. They were taken in sequence. My mom started by sticking her hand in the cage and when the birds saw her they headed over as you can see in the pictures and all got on her hand to be taken out.
I have a few more coming this year too. They are handfeeding now and I will place them when they are weaned:-) So if you want one but can't get it to day no worries. I can't gaurantee the same results with the next batch of birds that I got from these ones because each is from a different parent and who knows until you get there:-)
Sometimes the breeder can give them all the love in the world for some reason and they still prefer other birds to people:-( That's always sad because I have to sell or use them as breeders so that they won't be lonely and I just love selling them as pets.
I'm so excited to see a happy face of a bird and person when they meet the right partner! It's so exciting to think that the two of you will spend the next 25-35 years as compannions. I like to imagine what you will do together.
Some people who purchase a bird will call and tell me about the new things that their new best friend learns:-) I like that because I know that you are both happy and that is my ultimate goal.
Saying this I am going to ask you to please contact me if for some reason your bird and you are not happy.
We can talk about it and see if it's something we can resolve through simple training techniques but ultimately if the two of you seem to clash and there's no hope that you will make friends I don't want a bird to end up making you uncomfortable or for the bird to be unhappy.
So please call me and we will talk about it and if it sounds to me like a clash if you will permit me to I would like to trade another bird with you if I have it.
If you let a failing relationship go on for more than a week or so though I cannot trade birds because I am in the business of baby birds. So contact me immediately if there is an issue.
You can tell early if you are going to hit it off. Call me if there is any little thing. Don't worry about bothering me.
I am in the process of moving and preparing for a trip to Australia so if my hands are full or I'm in the middle of something I may ask you to call me back in a while or something but please call me back. I've had people who thought I was telling them to go away or something and they didn't call me back:-( Now I worry about them and their bird.
Usually it's a clash of personality. Just like we have people we like and others we would rather not be around. This happens in birds too. And maybe you won't like the bird and maybe the bird won't like you. It's normal. Don't let it hurt your feelings and don't get frustrated with the bird. Just call me:-)
I want you to make a veterinary appointment right away for a new bird check. It's not that expensive and it's a great idea! If there are any problems have the veterinarian write them down and call me. Do not bring the bird back to me please. I will ask that you finish it's medication and send me the form and a typed or written note from you about what he said it was and how to treat it while you were there. When treatment with the bird's medication is over and the vet clears it for being with other birds call me or email me. We will discuss a time for you to come over and get a refund of a vet bill that I feel is within reason. $100 or something like that. Not hundreds or something.
I'm hoping that at this time you and the bird have a relationship and you are NOT REQUIRED to bring the bird back to me if you would like to keep your friend.
I don't refund a healthy veterinary check but they cost very little:-)
I recommend that you don't buy your vitamins and things from the vet because there have been around a lot of sick animals and bacteria. You can pick up a very good vitamin that is what the veterinarian would sell to you called Nekton at just about any good quality pet store.
I like to shop pet stores that do not allow pets inside. People can still carry contageons to your pet but there will be a lot less than in a "pets welcome" pet stores. I like the little pet stores that sell a few fish or some feed stores for my bird supplies.
When shopping for bird products look around to see if you see small moths flying around anywhere on a row that has seeds on it. DO NOT BUY SEEDS IF YOU SEE MOTHS!! These are seed moths and can be poisonous to your bird.
A little known fact is that all moths are mildly toxic. The dust on their wings is toxic and brushes off in the mouth of things that try to eat them. Most animals don't end up eating moths because of it.
When moths are in your seed they brush around in there to find a good place to make their web and lay their eggs leaving their wing dust amongst the seeds. If you do accidentally bring seeds home and find webs or worms put it in the freezer until you can take it and show the store. You might think that it's a bother for the store but if you purchased from a little Mom and Pops you just may find them thanking you:-)
When you bring seed or grain home for your friend stick it in the freezer for at least 24 hours.
You won't find a better deal or gaurantee on a bird anywhere:-)
If you want a new friend please call: 541-258-3179 or 541-579-3312
I know this isn't about selling birds but I just had to tell somebody! I was out of town and one of my employees told me that the parents had accidentally injured a baby and it was spraddle leg. I came home the next day to see what I could do but I didn't expect the mess I saw! The baby bird's legs weren't only spraddled but they were so spraddled that they twisted up behind it! I was shocked and saddened when I saw the hopeless little bird. I held him for a while and I knew I was going to have to have him put to sleep. But then for some reason I felt some courage and got some medical tape. I taped his upper and lower legs so that they were connected to eachother and only about an inch and a half apart. He could stand like that right away!!!! He couldn't walk because I had him so taped up from shoulder to ankle but he stood up!! He looked at me with so much hope and he looked so happy to be standing there! I started changing the tape every day and putting Neosporin right under the bandage so it wouldnt'stick to his leg. Then I slowly put less bandages. Today I put him in a cage with some friends and my friend couldnt tell which one had the bad leg! He's so big and such an amazing little bird! Every time I feed him I kiss him and tell him what a miracle he is. What a miraculous cutie pie!
Thank you for reading:-)
