My wife and I have a breeding pair of boas that have been together for two years now but we need to sell as we have a very active baby boy. Also we are moving very soon and most places will not allow snakes for some inexplicable reason mostly streaming from a fear of snakes.
The Male(Bashful) is a 6 1/2 foot Colombian red-tail while the female(Snow) is a 6 3/4 foot Suriname Boa Constrictor. They are nigh inseparable and do not like being apart except for feedings thus they must be brought together.
Bashful's temperament is very mild. He loves to be held and likes to climb over everything. He will not eat live animals and doesn't eat as often as you would think. We brought him when he was only 5 foot from someone who needed to get rid of him quick so his baby time is unknown to us. In the pictures he is the one on top, with a darker pattern.
Snow's temperament is also mild with only mild aggression around breeding time and when she is hungry. She likes to be cradled in someones arms however we are almost positive she is gravid right now so holding is not the best thing. She will eat live or dead and we prefer to feed her dead as with Bashful. She can eat up to 2 rats at every feeding. We brought her when she was 5 1/2 foot at a reptile show so we also do not know anything about her past. In the pictures she is the one on the bottom with the very light pattern...almost snow like.
The cage that comes with them is a 250 gallon open-air enclosure. It's a mesh type of material to allow air-flow. The plastic liner, water container, boards to climb on, shedding rock, and clamp heat lamp all will come with them.
We have a big lot of 15 XL frozen rats that we brought from rodentpro.com so your feeding needs will be taken care of for quite a bit!
The price includes the snakes which we average at being worth 450 for Bashful and 650 for Snow. Thus we are selling them at quite the reduced amount due to our circumstances. The cage we brought for 300 dollars, the liner for 45, and the lamp with bulb for 50. The lot is worth 1500 but we've cut it down to just 1000 for everything.
We are looking for a good home for these two and need them to be picked up. We cannot ship them and would be willing to perhaps drive them to you providing you are close enough to the Orlando area. Please contact us at these two phone numbers. Casey at (321) 626-5366 Alicia at (314) 708-1602 These are our cell phones so just leave a message if we don't answer. Thank you very much.
